FREQUENTLY ASKED MAKEUP & HAIR QUESTIONS

DO YOU REQUIRE A MINIMUM NUMBER OF SERVICES FOR ON-SITE WEDDINGS?
Yes, Taylor Marie Beauty (TMB) requires a minimum of 4 hair and/or 4 makeup services in order to travel on-site for wedding day services. This should include the bride. If the number of services is less than 4 per category, the bride and her guests are welcome to schedule services at the salon studio.

DO I HAVE TO BOOK BOTH HAIR AND MAKEUP THROUGH TMB?

No! If you have another hairstylist in mind, you are welcome to book us for makeup services only -- or vice versa!

DO YOU CHARGE A TRAVEL FEE FOR WEDDINGS?
TMB artists will travel 20 miles in each direction at no cost. Any mileage beyond that will be charged a rate of $0.70 per mile. A travel fee is applicable for each traveling artist/stylist. We also ask that team members are reimbursed for any applicable parking fees.

HOW FAR ARE YOU WILLING TO TRAVEL FOR WEDDINGS?
We typically do not travel farther than 1.5 hours outside of the Twin Cities. In the event that we are able to travel further than this, we ask that lodging be provided for the team the night before. The standard mileage fee will also apply.

IF I HIRE YOU, WILL YOU USE MY PERSONAL MAKEUP OR HAIR PRODUCTS TO COMPLETE THE SERVICE?
No. All TMB artists come equipped with their own professional hair/makeup kits and are trained in using specific products and techniques. This ensures that the hair and makeup is completed in a timely manner and is done so with products that are guaranteed to last.

WHERE WILL THE TRIAL RUN TAKE PLACE? CAN I BRING MY MOM, MOH, FIANCÉ, ETC?
Trial runs are hosted at the salon studio in Maple Grove, unless otherwise coordinated by you and your assigned artist/stylist. You are welcome to bring a guest with you for the trial run, but we do ask that you limit that to 1 person max.

WHAT IF MY MOM OR SOMEONE IN MY BRIDL PARTY WANTS A TRIAL RUN AS WELL?
Anyone who would like a trial run is welcome to schedule one with a TMB artist. If that person is not the bride, the trial run will be $150 for makeup (including airbrush and lashes) and/or $125 for hair (not including any extension placement). These costs are non-refundable.

HOW LONG WILL THE HAIR AND MAKEUP TAKE ON THE DAY OF THE WEDDING?
In order to provide each person with a quality experience and to ensure there is a little extra time between services, we will schedule 30-45 minutes per person for weddings; with hair and makeup happening concurrently (when applicable).

WHAT IF THERE IS NOT ENOUGH TIME TO GET EVERYONE READY WITH JUST ONE ARTIST?
We would be happy to discuss a timeline with you and book an assistant to accompany your artist for the day. Depending on the rigidity of the timeline, a fee of $120 per additional artist/stylist may apply.

I'VE NEVER HAD AIRBRUSH MAKEUP BEFORE AND AM A LITTLE HESITANT.
CAN YOU TELL ME WHY YOU WOULD RECOMMEND IT?

We strongly recommend airbrush makeup for weddings, especially for brides. Often, there is a concern that airbrush makeup will feel heavy and/or look "cakey", when in fact, the complete opposite is true. The products we use allow us to create a natural, lightweight look that brides love! Our airbrush makeup is also water resistant, meaning it will hold up so much better against sweat and/or tears. Along with this, it photographs beautifully!
